“CNCI
- Achiever of Industrial Excellence” is
a unique event where the Ceylon National Chamber
of Industries, the premier Industrial Chamber
in the country provides an opportunity for the
Entrepreneurs in the Industrial Sector of Sri
Lanka to vie for honours for their achievements
in the field of Industry both manufacturing and
service sector.
This prestigious event is unique
not only for the Chamber but also for Sri Lanka
because an event of this magnitude is staged only
by the Ceylon National chamber of Industries and
as it extends the competition to the SAARC Regional
countries as well.
The objective of the event is
to promote industrial growth in the country by
recognizing those entrepreneurs especially those
who have excelled in the industrial sector and
to enhance the quality standards, productivity,
employee benefits, labour relations, adherence
to statutory requirements, etc.
As the evaluation is made on
a detailed criteria encompassing the productivity
standards, quality control, employee benefits
and relationship, respect for the environment,
Statutory obligations and social responsibility,
it is the view of our Chamber that by encouraging
larger participation annually in this “Achiever”
contest, more and more companies in the Industrial
Sector would be able to raise their quality standards
in every respect and enhance their productivity
levels.
This year event was a glorious
success due to excellence achieved in many areas;
namely the number of entries, enhanced level of
reporting, abundance of media publicity and record
attendance at the Awards Night.
The presence of Dr (Ms) Carol
Becker, The Resident Director USAID Mission in
Sri Lanka, Mr. Allesandro Pio the Country Director
ADB, Mr. Macky Hasim Chairman SAARC Chamber of
Industries as our honored guests certainly added
meaning and colour to the event.
In conclusion, whilst congratulating
the National Gold Winner Ceylon Biscuits Ltd and
all other Achievers, we thank all those companies,
which participated in the contest. On behalf of
